Biannual Post

So I honestly don't have a good excuse as to why I only updated twice this year (so far). I will continue to apologize on my lack of posts in every post so don't worry! I've been out of my artsy loop I guess. I found out a while ago that 2 of my greeting cards I worked on at American Greetings were published! You can buy them online at www.just-wink.com or at your local Target ;)

Oh I randomly sent out letters to friends and made doodles for them. I took some photos with my crappy phone beforehand. I was also part of a Halloween "Monster Mash" art show at The Bear and Bird Boutique + Gallery. It was really nice to work on something all the way through and get all nervous about prepping it for the show and finally seeing it on display. Maybe I'll get that same feeling about this post and want to update every week and show you all my work. Let's hope. Anyway, here's some stuff. (Click on them for a bigger view/slideshow!)

Baby Shower Card

"Gossip Ghoul" My piece for the Monster Mash show! I've been obsessed with Gossip Girl lately so I wanted to do bitchy monsters hanging out at a lame party.

Doodle for a friend.

Doodle for a friend in NY :)

Doodle for my sister I think.

Found this from a trip I took to Chicago / NY. I looked good obviously.

2012 update bro

So I know it's been a while. Life has been good, I can't complain. Lately I've been working on some interactive business cards for my best friend and developing another friend's professional site. As far as personal projects go, I've mostly been sketching hot girls, doodling hip kids, attempting more graphic design and trying out handwritten type. I've managed to fit my drawing desk in my room so I definitely plan on making new work and updating this more! I'm also excited/motivated because my friends and I are having a group show in May. The details are still being finalized but it will be amazing/fabulous/everything you've ever dreamed of and more. Anyway, here are some doodles from my sketchbook! Click on the pics for a larger view. Enjoy!

Post graduation work

OH HEY!! A lot has happened since I last updated. I finished an internship with American Greetings in the Alternative Humor Department and it was such an eye-opening and awesome experience. I got to work with some of funniest illustrators I've ever met all while learning the process of creating funny greeting cards. Illustrating silly characters/handwritten type everyday that fit a joke was more than I could ask for. I even got pied in the face for a video! I miss the Alternative team so much!!

Anyway, since I created up to 15 cards for them and we can't let competitors see our work before it's published, I can't show you the work I did there. I can show you all the silly doodles and weird things from my sketchbook while I was there though. So enjoy that. Another update: I recently got a job in Miami at a printing and engraving company as a graphic artist/ promotional products manager. It's going really well so far. Hope you enjoy these sketchbook pages! Click on them for a larger view ;)
